    Promontory Financial Group Canada, an IBM Company, is seeking a dynamic, visionary Director of Operations to oversee the growth and assure high quality service for our AML Risk & Compliance Services Operations in Markham, Ontario.

    The Director of Operations will lead all operational activities across multiple engagements and teams to drive our AML Managed Services Operations division’s overall strategic direction and client satisfaction. This position will collaborate with Executive Leadership, Finance, HR/Resource Management, Quality Assurance, Sales and Pursuit Management teams to ensure the successful set-up and execution of client engagements.  

    Responsibilities

    The Director of Operations will provide leadership to Managers, Team Leads, and Analysts, ensuring production objectives, performance standards and client deliverables are met on engagements, and will be responsible for:

    • Directing engagement planning, implementation, staffing and execution of operational functions.
    • Managing and supervising operational teams with up to 150+ production staff.
    • Providing business direction, coaching, and timely execution against contractual deliverables.
    • Leading client meetings with a focus on operational execution for ongoing engagements, effectively addressing client expectations and concerns.
    • Ensuring proficient training, staff development, and effective employee relations and recognition for all operational personnel.
    • Assure timely, high quality management information systems (MIS) reporting, providing visibility and transparency for executive leadership and clients on engagement progress, productivity, quality and other metrics.
    • Developing and executing against action plans to effect continuous process improvement.
    • Identifying process inefficiencies and develops solutions in a timely manner.
    • Supporting business development initiatives as required and participating in pricing initiatives.
    • Authorizing and coordinating changes in staffing schedules through HR/Resource Manager.
    • Partnering with senior leaders to support the development of the growth strategy.

    Qualifications

    • 5-7+ years of senior operations management experience in the financial services or business process outsourcing industry required.
    • Experience within a bank Financial Intelligence Unit/AML Group strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience developing and managing multiple large scale operations teams of 100 or more across fast-paced, multi-client environment.
    • Strong client relationship management, influential presentation and communication skills a must.
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast paced, high intensity, high demand and deadline-driven environment
    • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrix management organization. Ability to make decisions based on a broad range of issues, within and outside the control of the day-to-day working environment
    • Proven track record of implementing operational process improvement projects.
    • Ability to independently make decisions that contribute to the success of an engagement and manage risks for the company.
    • Experience with budget development and management and MIS reporting.
    • A strong sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to respond immediately to escalated issues and rapidly changing priorities.
    • Critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills used in operational planning and evaluation.
    • Ability to set clear expectations, manage team performance and build high morale and achieve top quality performance among team members
    • Excellent computer skills; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
    • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or other related discipline; or equivalent combination of education.
    • Bi-lingual language skills, such as Spanish or French, are an asset.
